Spicy Island Shrimp

1 green pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. butter/margarine
2 1/4 lbs. uncooked shrimp
2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce
3 tbsp. chopped green onions
1 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. each salt & pepper
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4-1/2 tsp. white pepper
14/-1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
hot cooked rice

In large skillet saute green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Reduce heat; add shrimp. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, green onions, parsley and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 20 minutes (until slightly thickened). Serve over rice.
